Meet The Owner

Eston T. Smith

I left my small coastal town in Oregon for West Point in 2016. After a year at the Prep-School, and four years at the Academy, I graduated with a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on automotive sciences and renewables.

I commissioned as an Armor officer in May of 2021. After 10 months of Armor specific schooling at Ft. Moore, Ga, I moved to Joint Base Lewis McChord in Washington. At JBLM, I served as an Adjutant, Platoon Leader, and Executive officer. While the Army lifestyle does not allow much free time, my passion for classic cars and hot-rodding is strong. I started work on the first prototype in September of 2023.

In designing the first prototype, I found that numerous aspects of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles translate to the EV world. Using the textbooks and lessons from the Engineering department at West Point, I was able to design a chassis with modern suspension dynamics to pair with an EV powertrain.

The team at EV West in California was incredibly helpful in teaching me the reliable and safe aftermarket application of Tesla components. Using proven and reliable automotive communication protocols such as CAN BUS, and the aftermarket technologies provided by EV Controls, I finished the truck in October of 2024.

After completing the first prototype in October, I sold my traditional ICE truck and have dedicated all of my free time to creating a better version of the truck to bring to consumers.
